Instagram
and
suffer a worldwide failure that prevents users from uploading content to Meta's social networks from midday.
"We are aware that people
have problems accessing our services
. We are working on this now," Andy Stone, Meta spokesperson, posted minutes before 1 p.m.
On X (formerly Twitter) many users vented their anger because they lost content when trying to post it.
Others even expressed their fear that their account had been hacked.
According to the Downdetector site, the problems began minutes before noon, when reports of the failures began to arrive.
The most reported problems on Instagram had to do with using the app (36%), uploading content (36%) and using the Feed (28%).
"When sending a message it gives an error and it is not sent, the stories do not load either," reported one of the users.
"I open a live or a story and the application closes. I uninstalled it, reinstalled it. I deleted everything but it keeps happening," explained another.
In the case of Facebook, almost 8 out of 10 reports of problems on the site had to do with the inability to log in, which raised the specters of a possible account hack.
"I changed my password and did a couple of things thinking I had been hacked," said one of those affected.
As usual, it didn't take long for the memes and even the uploads to arrive.
