A new Audi charging hub, located near the Orber Straße installation, has been inaugurated in Frankfurt am Main.
Open to electric cars of any brand, it offers HPC charging with power up to 320 kW from four stations.
This structure, thanks to ample space for manoeuvre, makes charging operations easier for all users, including people with disabilities.
Furthermore, during the energy supply, it allows those who use the service to visit a former historic factory with annexed services, including catering, where there is also a collection of internationally renowned vintage cars.
The creation of this site, in a place where the electricity grid would not have been able to power multiple HPC charging points with powers up to 320 kW, was possible thanks to the storage of automotive batteries that have reached their second life, which allow 'store over 1.05 MWh of energy.
This is Audi's sixth charging hub and, according to Nikolai Senst, responsible for the implementation of Audi charging hubs, over 5,000 visits per year are expected in Frankfurt.
This is because, as Stephanie Wüst, Frankfurt city councilor and head of the city's economic affairs department, specified, in the metropolitan area of this city there is a high density of electric vehicles, with a consequent need for drivers who they cannot refuel at home or at work, to be able to use fast charging points.
Finally, as with the pilot projects in Berlin and Munich, virtual assistance is also present in Frankfurt, with staff providing suggestions via special displays, remotely and, in case of difficulty, offering support for card payment credit or for configuring the Plug & Charge function.
