It is in this context that infectious disease specialist Nathan Peiffer-Smadja suffered a wave of cyberharassment from many Internet users.
Four of them were tried this Wednesday by the Paris criminal court.
If they must jointly pay 4,000 euros in damages to the doctor, the penalties are not the same.
Two of them received suspended fines of 500 and 800 euros.
Two others were sentenced to two months in prison.
