This is the continuation of a case made public in 2022. The former EELV leader, Julien Bayou, is the target of a complaint from his ex-spouse, Anaïs Leleux, for moral harassment and abuse of weakness, indicated this Wednesday the Paris prosecutor's office, contacted by AFP.
The complaint targeting the MP for Europe Ecologie les Verts was registered on Tuesday by the prosecution, said the public prosecutor, confirming information from the site Les Jours, and it is “currently being analyzed”.
Anaïs Leleux, feminist activist, also filed a complaint against X “for failure to assist a person in danger,” she told Les Jours.
This complaint “against EELV” is also being analyzed, according to the public prosecutor.
Contacted, Julien Bayou and the EELV party did not respond to requests from AFP.
The EELV investigation unit singled out
In a long interview broadcast on Tuesday, Anaïs Leleux explained to Les Jours that she blamed “psychological violence” on her ex-companion, who “made her believe” that she was “crazy”.
After the breakup at the end of 2021, Anaïs Leleux recounts two suicide attempts, upset by “testimonies from other women” that she received about the “problematic behavior” of her ex-partner.
“I feel guilty, I tell myself that I served as a feminist guarantee,” says the thirty-year-old who campaigned within Amnesty International, NousToutes and founded the Pourvoir feminist collective.
She also accuses him of abuse of weakness.
While she was “suicidal” and in “post-traumatic stress”, she signed “lots of papers”: “A separation agreement, a protocol of understanding, a deed of sale…”.
“He came after me when I was at the end of my tether,” she judges.
She also believes that the protocol of the Investigation Unit on Sexist and Sexual Violence (CVSS) within EELV, seized in July 2022, “put her in danger”: members “not solidly trained”, investigation not “outsourced”, “access to the name of the complainants”…
Following the public revelation, in September 2022, of the internal investigation targeting him, Julien Bayou resigned from the party's national secretariat.
Through his lawyer, he denounced “an instrumentalization of the fight” against violence against women “for political purposes”, in the run-up to the party Congress.
