NEWS LE PARISIEN. An investigation was opened for “provocation to suicide” and “harassment” after the death of influencer Maëva Fr

The flip side of online fame has the face of a blonde, blue-eyed, sad-looking woman.

More than two years after the death of YouTuber Maëva Frossard, known as MavaChou, the judicial court of Épinal (Vosges) ordered the indictment of her ex-husband, Adrien Czajczynski, and his wife Laura.

On February 27, the couple was also placed under judicial supervision.

Maëva Frossard killed herself at the end of 2021 amid online harassment.

She was 32 years old.

Relatives of the deceased accuse her ex-partner of having led a campaign of hatred against her.

Also a YouTuber, Adrien Czajczynski was fighting to obtain custody of their four children with his partner.

The day of his death, the influencer filed a complaint against him for the fifth time.

In the wake of the tragedy, the Epinal public prosecutor's office opened an investigation for "moral harassment leading to suicide", which has since been transformed into a judicial investigation against acts of “harassment towards Maëva Frossard and her companion Romain”.

“I have done things that may be reprehensible”

From the same source, the IT expertise carried out over the last two years would have made it possible to “de-anonymize” accounts which attacked Maëva on social networks.

In March 2022, Adrien Czajczynski was searched and placed in police custody.

“If there had been serious and consistent elements, I would already be indicted,” he then claimed in the video.

Degrading montages of the young woman were also found by investigators.

When asked, the incriminated couple, themselves victims of death threats on social networks, did not wish to react immediately.

“We have no comment to make at this time, except that we firmly deny having committed any reprehensible act,” temporizes Me Laurent Mortet, who represents Laura Czajczynski.

“My client is available to the courts to answer all the questions that will be asked of him, as he has always done,” recalls Me Renaud Gerardin, the husband's lawyer.

“I have done things that could be reprehensible, I know,” the YouTuber told us last year, in his only press interview.

(…) If I have to assume them, I will assume them in court.

But I will not be alone in the dock.

For the blogger Jeremstar, committed against harassment phenomena, “the most serious thing is the posthumous harassment that Maëva suffers.

As if no lessons had been learned from this affair.”
