The 37-year-old American actor Drake Bell, who in his youth was one of the stars of Nickelodeon and is best known from the series "Drake and Josh", claims that he was a victim of sexual abuse by the actor and dialogue coach Brian Peck, in an interview for the documentary series called "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV".
Peck worked as a dialogue coach on the series "All That" and "The Amanda Show", the latter starring Bell from 1999 to 2002.
Brian Peck was arrested in 2003 on more than 12 charges related to the sexual abuse of minors.
In 2004 he was convicted of indecent acts on one minor and performing oral sex on another minor.
The identity of the victims in the acts in which he was convicted was not published, and Bell did not specify the nature of the abuse he experienced.
He is expected to do it in the investigative program that will be broadcast later this month.
Peck was sentenced to 16 months in prison.
The documentary series aired a promo featuring Bell (watch above) and its press release stated: "Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell will share publicly for the first time the story of the abuse he experienced from Brian Peck, his former dialogue coach who was convicted in 2004 of his crimes against Drake."
The series will include four episodes that will reveal the toxic working conditions in children's programs in the nineties and early 2000s, especially those signed by producer and creator Dan Schneider.
It will be broadcast on March 17 and 18 on the American channel Investigation Discovery.
In August 2020, Drake Bell's ex-girlfriend alleged that he verbally and physically abused her during a three-year relationship they had in the late 2000s.
She also accused Bell of inappropriate behavior towards girls.
Bell denied the allegations.
In June 2021, Bell was arrested in Cleveland, Ohio, on charges of having a relationship with a 15-year-old girl. It was alleged that when Bell was 31 years old, he sent the minor "inappropriate messages" on social media.
Bell pleaded guilty.
In July 2021 the complainant, then 19 years old, appeared publicly and accused Bell of sexual assault when she was a minor.
Bell was sentenced to two years of probation and community service.
