Hidden under the bushes, face down, fully dressed but barefoot, Mélodie Mendes Da Silva lies in the middle of nature, a few meters below the road which leads to the Col de l'Espigoulier, on the heights of Marseille (Bouches-du- Rhône).
This 34-year-old woman has been missing since November 3.
Six weeks later, his face is unrecognizable.
A sentence tattooed on the left forearm, however, confirms his identity: “When the woman takes revenge, the devil sits down and takes notes”.
A proverb which this mother of two children, born in the Marseille city into a family of Cape Verdean origin, had made her motto.
Cruel role reversal.
A few hours before the discovery of her body, the night of December 15, her ex-lover confessed.
He allegedly killed her with several gunshots in a fit of uncontrolled anger.
For the moment, this “accidental” version has not convinced the courts since the suspect, placed in pre-trial detention, has been indicted for murder (premeditated murder or ambush).
The culmination of an investigation initially opened for worrying disappearance, expanded to charges of kidnapping and sequestration then for drug trafficking.
