Manufacturers who wish to broaden their commitment to the ecological transition towards fuel cell solutions now have a viable solution and above all ready for assembly in the vehicle, ready to run as experts say.
The British specialist Viritech, which had made itself known with the Apricale hypercar designed by Pininfarina, has in fact launched the VPT60N fuel cell propulsion kit which, the company specifies, is available for cars, light commercial vehicles and off-road vehicles. 60 kW fuel cell for an engine power of 200 kW (272 HP) is configurable with modular design to allow easy integration into many applications.
The group includes a fuel cell with system balancing and DC/DC Boost power converter, a 16 kWh 400 Volt battery and a battery and cooling management system.
In combination with the electric machine chosen by Viritech, the system can deliver a peak power of up to 200 kW and an axle torque of 4,100 Nm. The hydrogen storage system has a capacity of 6 kg and works at 350 bar with pressure regulation and filling system compliant with SAE standards.
Both the battery and hydrogen energy tank are available in custom form factors to facilitate packaging on the vehicle with a standardized option for both available to minimize delivery times.
The powertrain is delivered with all systems integration between powertrain components and VCU pre-configured for system startup in the vehicle.
“We are excited to make a viable, available and easily integrated fuel cell powertrain available to large OEMs and Tier-1 manufacturers,” said Timothy Lyons, CEO of Viritech. of fuel cell vehicles".
