The pleadings of the civil party's lawyer had barely begun, this Thursday evening, around 8:30 p.m., when the prosecutor of the 9th criminal chamber of the Créteil judicial court requested a short suspension.
A few dozen meters away, fireworks mortars were burst in bursts.
The magistrate, concerned, wants to know what is happening.
“When there is mortar fire, we naturally turn to the police.
In my mind, the first line of defense is the police,” she explained after the restart.
She recognizes how “unpleasant” it is for a prosecutor to “make charges against a police officer”, such is the “professional proximity”.
“This is not the police trial,” she repeated during her indictment, while around twenty police officers, including several executives from the SGP Police FO Unit, came to support their colleague.
