Renault's history with electric cars began 12 years ago with the Zoe, and now with the Scenic E-Tech Electric, built with 24% recycled materials and 90% recyclable, the French company is broadening the horizons of electric cars. battery with the ambition is to remove obstacles towards a use that is not limited by fixed thoughts on residual autonomy.

Thanks to an 87 kWh battery which guarantees 625 km of travel in the WLTP cycle.

Furthermore, the direct current charging power reaches up to 150 kW, and in the first 30 minutes the car maintains a charging power range of 130 kW, which allows the recovery of over 50 kWh of energy.

These are important numbers, considering that 85% of customers come from combustion engine cars.

But for Renault all this was not enough or could not be enough, so, in addition to a particularly refined design, in which interesting solutions stand out, such as that of the grille which merges into the front without appearing to be an element in itself, the Lozenge brand has the panoramic roof, Solarbay, was created, capable of varying the number of darkened portions for ideal internal light.

Furthermore, it has equipped the car with a new multimedia system created in collaboration with Google, which allows you to choose from over 50 applications and provides a higher level of interaction through the safety coach, which analyzes the driver's behavior and provides advice to improve safety driving.

A safety that is also increased by the over 30 driving aid devices, which can be customized via the safety switch, including multi collision breaking, around view monitor, and active driver assist.

But that's not all, because, in the event of an impact, the battery has an entrance designed for the hoses supplied to firefighters which allows you to put out any fire in a few minutes.

Seeing it for the first time, the car of the year 2024 appears futuristic and, despite being 4.47 meters long, thanks to its architecture and wheelbase of 2.78 metres, it offers plenty of space on board, with 278 mm for legs of those sitting in the back, and 884 mm for headroom in the rear area.

Furthermore, the boot offers a useful volume of 545 litres, which can be expanded up to 1,670 litres.

The sensation is that of traveling into the future, re-proposing in a more filtered way the agile dynamics of the Megane E-Tech. In this case, the focus on comfort has been accentuated, even for travel, but the body roll remains contained, with the car which turns flat even in supported turns.

To help with braking, you can vary the level of energy regeneration, there are 4, while the steering is always quick, and offers a turning radius of just 10.9 metres, very useful in the city.

In our first contact we traveled 109 km with a consumption of 16.4 kWh/100 km even using the air conditioning, in a context that involved the car both on city streets and on hills, and did not spare the car motorway sections .

Therefore, consumption, and consequently autonomy, are in line with the data declared by the company.

Offered with two battery packs, 60 and 87 kWh, which correspond to two power levels, 170 and 220 HP, the Renault Scenic E-Tech Electric has a price starting from 40,050 euros for the Evolution with a 60 kWh battery, up to to the 50,450 euros of the Iconic with the 87 kWh battery pack.

The variant on which 65% of sales are expected to be concentrated is the balanced Techno, which has a base price of 41,550 euros and boasts a substantial package that includes full LED adaptive vision headlights, the 12-inch openR link multimedia display , the wireless charger, the electric tailgate, the front, rear and side parking sensors, and the Ingenius rear armrest.
