Their laughter still filled his house Saturday evening.

Their car was found in the middle of the afternoon, empty of any occupants.
“We have been hanging on the phone and glued to our television since this morning.
Everyone calls us, but we don’t know anything,” the retiree despairs.
Like almost every Saturday evening, Christiane had gathered her daughter, her son and their respective families around her for dinner.
It was while returning to his home, 40 km away, that his car was swept away near the town of Dions, on a submersible bridge which was apparently not closed to traffic. .
