An 80-year-old man died on a beach in Saint-Martin-de-Ré, on the Île de Ré (Charente-Maritime) this Sunday March 10 at midday after being caught by the tide, indicated to the Parisian the firefighters of the department, confirming information from the daily Sud Ouest.
The man was taken care of by the firefighters, while fortunately, the firefighters' Dragon 17 helicopter was flying over the area during the high tides.
The device was transported to the area where the octogenarian was located so that a firefighter could be winched to him, specifies France Bleu La Rochelle.
Charente-Maritime on orange alert
According to Sud Ouest, the rescuer was able to bring him back to La Cible beach, the closest.
