Two people were injured, one seriously, during a shooting that occurred during the night from Saturday to Sunday in the Blosne district, south of Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine).
According to AFP, the life prognosis of the seriously injured person is in jeopardy.
According to the daily Ouest-France, around 2 a.m., “dozens of explosions” were heard for several minutes by residents of this popular district of Rennes where deal points are located.
Bullet holes are visible on the doors of several buildings neighboring Place de Banat where the shooting occurred.
The newspaper published a photo on its site showing several impacts in the kitchen of a local resident.
“I heard numerous explosions during the night and when I got up I discovered my kitchen completely destroyed,” he says.
“We live in fear, we can’t take it anymore with my wife,” he added.
Reinforced security in Rennes
Police reinforcements, in particular from CRS 82, recently created to respond to emergency situations, and from Raid are mobilized to secure the scene of the shooting, added the police source.
According to France Bleu, a reinforced police presence will also be maintained in the coming days.
Asked by AFP, the Ille-et-Vilaine prefecture did not wish to communicate at this stage because “a legal investigation is underway”.
