Since Elon Musk purchased X (formerly Twitter) in October 2022, he has tried through various initiatives to increase the company's profits.
Now, the owner of Tesla and SpaceX is expected to enter the streaming field with the launch of a dedicated video app for smart TVs, SamMobile website reports.
Musk confirmed the publication in a tweet on X: "Soon you will be able to watch your favorite long videos from X directly on your smart TVs."
The video app will allow users to watch content on Samsung smart TVs and Amazon Fire TV.
This move is consistent with Musk's recent statement that X will become a video-based platform — and one that "has everything," from a chat app to a payments app.
According to him, 80% of the activity on X today includes watching videos.

The announcement comes after less good news for the social network, when a study by Edison Research found that in 2024 there was a 30% decrease in the use of the site compared to 2023. In an attempt to stop the decline and remain popular, X is investing heavily in supporting content creation and attracting advertisers.
Another step in this direction was the announcement in February of the launch of tools that will allow advertisers to advertise alongside content from selected creators, according to a report in Forbes.
