In any case, on site, doctors noted that the child had serious injuries, including several fractures to the skull but also to the wrists.
They also noted, after a brain MRI, a rupture of the bridging veins, the main characteristic of shaken baby syndrome.
They deny “any ill treatment”
Three days after the infant's admission, the doctors notify the judicial authorities, as required by protocol.
The minors protection brigade, the specialized judicial police service, is seized by the Paris prosecutor's office.
The next morning, as part of the preliminary investigation, police officers came to the home of the parents, who live in a building in Paris (20th century).
The couple is taken into police custody.
If the mother is unknown to the police, the father has already been involved in several cases, including rape and intentional violence.
During the hearings which lasted all weekend, the father and mother denied “any ill treatment” inflicted on their baby since his birth, according to a source close to the case.
Following the referral, the Paris public prosecutor's office, which did not respond to our requests, opened a judicial investigation.
The investigation is therefore continuing under the authority of an investigating judge.
