Production of the new fifth generation Mini Cooper has begun at the Mini plant in Oxford.
Mini Plant Oxford associates were joined by Head of Mini, Stefanie Wurst, for a special event where the first three-door model was driven off the production line by Charlie Cooper, grandson of the legendary John Cooper.

The Oxford plant is the heart of the Mini brand and today, as we witness the birth of this new chapter, We renew our commitment to craftsmanship and the thrill of motoring."
The new Mini Cooper is the latest generation to be built in the UK, with all three BMW Group UK plants contributing to production.
The BMW Group Plant in Swindon produces molds and subassemblies for the bodywork, while the latest high-efficiency three- and four-cylinder petrol engines are built at the BMW Group Plant in Hams Hall, North Warwickshire.
All these parts flow into the Oxford Mini Plant, where bodyshell production, painting and final assembly take place.
The Mini Cooper will be priced starting from 28,900 euros, with first deliveries to customers in spring 2024.
