The new high-end version of the electric Porsche Tayken, the Turbo GT, adds a performance package that puts it in line with streetcar holdings, and already scores a first achievement

When you read the data, you will realize that this color is the least flashy thing on the manufacturer's website

The Porsche Tayken, until now, has been the main claimant to the title of the best sports electric car in the world that can be bought, that is, outside the extreme worlds of the electric hypercars, none of which can be said to be "serial".

But on this field, at least in terms of performance, there has been a player for several years that has been making all the manufacturers happy in this field - it's called the Tesla Model S in the plaid version.

Now, with the introduction of the Taiken Turbo GT with the Weissach package, the division takes Porsche's products a few more clicks towards the edge, the madness.

This is the first time they have touched the manufacturer's tram, and the result is appetizing.

The improvement, which includes the cocktail of shedding weight and adding horses, increases the power of the electric motor to a combined 1,033 hp in normal mode and up to 1,108 horses when it is in "boost" mode, which is called attack here, which lasts two seconds. Certainly the time period beyond which this is irresponsible. ..

Gives up rear seats, a single loading opening, a reduction in insulation materials and the addition of carbon fiber parts/manufacturer site

In terms of weight, it sheds 75 kg compared to the Tiken Turbo S on which it is based, part of the diet comes from the use of carbon fiber for body parts and part from renouncing electric operation for systems such as the tailgate, for example.

And with the Visach package, another 70 kg is lost through the elimination of the rear seats and the use of carbon fiber seats for the front, removal of noise isolation materials, elimination of one of the two charging sockets and a manual opening mechanism instead of an electric one, the windows are lighter and the multimedia system is simpler than in the regular model.

New calibration suspensions, front ceramic brakes, an aerodynamics package, the floor of the car is smoothed with air deflectors and Pirelli P Zero tires dedicated to powerful electric cars (R ELECT) are responsible for the grip and braking work.

2.2 seconds to 100 km/h in the Visach version/manufacturer's website

And for fun, what does it do?

In terms of performance, the car stops the clock at 2.3 seconds in the jump to 100 and with the Visach package you will save another 0.1 seconds.

FYI, it will still be slower than the 2.1 seconds of the Model S Blade.

The maximum speed is 305 km/h, here too the Model S will continue to distance itself with its maximum 322 km/h.

But here there is a twist in the plot, if you are after all people of numbers and less feelings, the Turbo GT recorded a time of 1:27:9 minutes around the Laguna Seca track in the United States, 2.4 seconds less than the Model S Plaid.

A pre-production version of the model lapped the Nürburgring track in 7:07:55 minutes, the fastest 4-door car on the track.

This is 17:45 seconds less than the Model S Plaid which held this record until then.

This added power and capability comes at the price of reducing the range to 555 km compared to the maximum range of the regular Taiken which is 678 km.

Aerodynamic aids to improve grip/manufacturer site

The range is not the only price that must be sacrificed on the way to Porsche's extreme electric driving machine, there is also the financial price.

While the price of the model S Plaid is 646 thousand shekels, in Europe the price of the Taiken Turbo GT starts at about 240 thousand euros.

If you want one of these in Israel, it will have to be made by special order and the price is expected to be around NIS 2 million.

Well, at least you can say that the fuel cost will be much lower.
