The small group was dissolved in March 2021 for inciting hatred, by decree of the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin.
Twelve former members of Génération Identitaire suspected of having reconstituted the small far-right group were arrested this Tuesday, Le Parisien learned from a source close to the case, confirming information from BFMTV.
They are suspected of reconstituting a dissolved league.
These people would be members of the Argos group, a collective founded after the dissolution of Génération Identitaire.
The Minister of the Interior had raised for the first time the idea of dissolving Generation Identity after anti-migrant operations in the Alps and the Pyrenees in January 2021. Around thirty activists were deployed between Luchon (Haute -Garonne) and the Spanish border.
With cars screen-printed “Defend Europe”, they had set up at the Col du Portillon, some had gone hiking using a drone to monitor the border.
