A twelve-year-old child died on Tuesday after jumping from the third floor of a building, located on Boulevard Garibaldi, in the 15th arrondissement of the capital, we learned on Wednesday from the Paris prosecutor's office, confirming information from BFMTV.
The young boy escaped from the window of his parents' home, which overlooks the metro tracks.
He would have been seen during his fall by the driver and passengers of a train, according to a source close to the case.
The young teenager did not die instantly but “very quickly succumbed to his injuries,” the same source told Le Parisien.
His death was pronounced on the spot by the firefighters and his body was transported to the Forensic Institute.
A security perimeter was set up by the National Police and the Municipal Police.
In “conflict” with his father
This suicide could be linked to “a conflict” with his father, who “adopted strict methods on how to educate his son”, specified the source, referring to “terrible” facts.
The child left a letter to explain his actions.
An investigation into the causes of death has been opened by the juvenile prosecutor's office, announced the Paris prosecutor's office.
