Pirelli has announced an investment of approximately 37 million euros (200 million reais) in its industrial center of Campinas, in the interior of the state of Sao Paulo, in Brazil.
On this occasion, the foundation stone was laid for a new warehouse measuring over 56,000 square metres, capable of storing up to 800,000 tyres, which is scheduled to open in 2025, in addition to the inauguration of a laboratory for indoor testing of raw materials which, According to Pirelli CEO for Latin America, Cesar Alarcon, it is "Formula 1 quality".
During a press conference, the CEO of Pirelli for Latin America, Cesar Alarcon confirmed the Campinas industrial center "as the nerve center of activities in Latin America, not only from the point of view of production capacity, but also in the choice of the plant as a hub for technology, innovation and the generation of value".
