A 31-year-old woman died in the night from Wednesday to Thursday in hospital following injuries sustained in an apartment in the suburbs of Metz (Moselle), and two people were taken into police custody, a- we learned from the prosecution.
The police were called around 1 a.m. due to noise coming from an apartment in Montigny-lès-Metz, said the deputy public prosecutor of Metz, Thomas Bernard.
They were greeted by two people and noted that a young woman was injured, having received blows, particularly to the face, according to information from the Républicain Lorrain.
Hospitalized, the victim died shortly after, indicated Thomas Bernard.
An autopsy performed Friday
“The two people who were in the apartment with her are in police custody for murder,” announced the magistrate.
One of them was unknown to the justice services, while the other has already been convicted several times.
An autopsy on the victim's body will take place on Friday.
According to a source close to the investigation, cited by the Républicain Lorrain, it was not “domestic violence”, but a “drinking evening which tragically got out of hand”.
