It is a path made of progressive electrification but at the same time of the desire to continue to offer different engines, from hybrid to LPG, without even missing out on experimentation on synthetic fuels.
"The new platform on which the new Duster was born - commented Patrice Levy-Bencheton, VP Dacia Product, during a meeting with the Italian press - as well as several other products of the near future, has opened up a new path for us which will see its realization also with the future Bixter, which will be consistent with Dacia's offer".
A 'number' on which the car manufacturer has focused heavily is that of the new Duster, which can recently also be ordered in Italy.
"The reveal of Duster gave us very positive feedback - commented Levy-Bencheton - also through a program dedicated to customers who were able to receive preview information. For us, Duster is an iconic model, for which we have set ourselves legitimately ambitious objectives ".
Together with progressive electrification, in particular with the introduction of the Hybrid 140 engine, first on the Jogger and now on the new Duster, Dacia also aims to maintain the current LPG, which is particularly successful in terms of sales to private individuals.
"LPG has a key role for us - explained Levy-Bencheton - both because it represents a third of sales but also because it is one of our proposals towards progressive decarbonisation. We will continue to develop it and invest in this direction too".
Partially sealed lips, however, regarding the imminent arrival of the Sandero in the Hybrid 140 version. "The only thing I can say today - commented the Dacia product manager - is that that technology is at our disposal. Use the technology already tried and tested by Renault, which is the forerunner, it allows us not to have to incur development costs and to be competitive on the price front".
On the range front, the private market will remain at the center of Dacia's strategy.
"Our range - concluded Levy-Bencheton - is designed to generate volumes and it would not make sense to concentrate on niche markets or commercial vehicles.
The private market will remain our priority, even with the new possibilities in the C segment that Bixter offers us will offer."
