In police custody since Tuesday, Stéphane Plaza will be tried for violence against two former partners, the Paris prosecutor's office explained this Thursday.
The star host of M 6 is the target of an investigation for domestic violence after complaints from at least two ex-partners.
He had been heard for 48 hours at the capital's central police station.
The investigation was opened after the publication by Mediapart in September 2023 of testimonies from three ex-partners of the 53-year-old real estate agent, popularized by his broadcasts on M 6, who denounced “humiliation, threats, verbal violence and, for two of them, physical.”
Two of these women then wrote to the Paris prosecutor's office to accuse Stéphane Plaza of "violence committed" during their relationship, the prosecutor's office indicated in October.
He denies the facts
This Wednesday, Stéphane Plaza was confronted by the two complainants.
One of them accuses him of having broken a finger and dislocated two others.
The same day, he allegedly grabbed her by the collar, pinned her against a wall and pressed his forearm to her throat.
The real estate agent would have remained faithful to his line of defense by placing himself, according to a source close to the case, in “denial” and “victimization”.
He rejects these accusations and declared in December on his Instagram account “to have a clear conscience”.
“This fleeting moment will soon be just a distant memory.
For the first time, I will finally be able to express myself, thank you,” the host wrote Tuesday morning, again on his Instagram account.
