A man was indicted on Friday and placed in pre-trial detention after the assassination eight days ago in Ajaccio of Marc Lafay, 36, recently released from prison.
He was indicted for “assassination by an organized gang and criminal conspiracy,” Nicolas Bessone, Marseille public prosecutor, told AFP on Saturday.
But the name of the accused has not been revealed.
The victim, tried in March 2022 for a drug case, was shot and killed on March 8 in the early morning in a parking lot located near a bakery and a school.

of imprisonment for aggravated theft after the robbery of a couple from Lyon, lured to Ajaccio via an ad on the Internet, reports Corse Matin.
The Marseille JIRS is investigating
An investigation had been opened on the charge of intentional homicide and entrusted to the interdepartmental direction of the national police of Corsica-du-Sud, had specified on the day of the events the Ajaccio prosecutor who indicated that "several leads" were at the study “including that of a settling of scores against a backdrop of drug trafficking without this avenue being able, at this stage, to be favored over the others”.

The Specialized Interregional Jurisdiction (JIRS) of Marseille, competent in matters of organized crime, then took charge of the investigation.
This assassination is the 7th in Corsica since the start of the year.
