Living daily in peace is a routine dreamed of by the vast majority of French people.
If some see the price per square meter as the first factor to take into account before settling down somewhere, others prioritize security.
Based on around ten criteria and the delinquency figures recorded by the Ministry of the Interior, Le Parisien exclusively draws up the ranking of the safest cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants in mainland France.
The crimes were grouped into four main families: assaults, which account for 35% of the final score obtained by the city, thefts (25%), burglaries (20%) and nuisances which poison daily life, such as drug trafficking or deliberate destruction and damage (20%).
The cities most spared by these facts are given a good rating.
