The teenager implicated in the murder of Rose, a 5-year-old child killed in Rambervillers (Vosges) in April 2023, was sentenced Monday in Épinal in another case to 3 years in prison for rape and sexual assault on two minors , we learned from the prosecution.
The teenager, now 16 years old, received 3 years of imprisonment, one of which was suspended, with a committal warrant.
The court also banned him from staying in Rambervillers and from contacting minors, public prosecutor Frédéric Nahon told AFP, confirming information from the daily Vosges Matin.

The events took place in this small town in the Vosges in February 2022. The young victims were aged 11 and 12.
One of the children said he had been kidnapped and raped by the defendant, and the second said he had been the victim of a sexual assault.
According to the regional daily, the teenager, who was then 14 years old, had asked three children, aged 9, 11 and 12, to follow him to an isolated grove.
The two oldest were allegedly tied to a tree before suffering the acts they denounced.

The defendant's lawyer announced to Vosges Matin her client's wish to appeal this conviction.
He has been appearing behind closed doors before the Epinal children's court since the start of the day, while he is at the same time placed in pre-trial detention in another case, that of the murder of Rose.
The child was found on April 25, 2023, with her naked body, in a plastic bag in an apartment in Rambervillers, a few hours after her parents reported her disappearance to the police.
The teenager in question admitted to having held the girl's head underwater in the bathtub during a reenactment in June.
