The Navigo pass at -75% for everyone!
This could have been a campaign slogan.
But it was indeed a huge scam by an organized gang, as we revealed.
This Wednesday, at the Paris Court of Appeal, two Egyptians in an irregular situation appeared for their leading role in this scam which cost the community at least 29 million euros.
At first instance, the two men were sentenced to thirty months in prison with a warrant of committal.
The same sentence was requested by the attorney general on appeal.
The court's decision was to be reserved.
The investigation, led by police officers from the organized crime department, opened in February 2022 while “good deals” flourished on social networks.
The principle is simple: you give 150 euros per year in cash to someone and they get you a Navigo pass for only 18.80 euros per month instead of 75.20 euros (now 86.40 euros per month for all areas).
