They mobilized around thirty rescuers in total, as well as a boat and drones.

After an interruption on Wednesday, due to weather conditions, the search resumed on Thursday in an extended area.

But still no trace of the couple of artisan bakers from Beaumont-de-Lomagne.

“They disappeared without leaving a trace, neither backpack nor clothes,” Commissioner João Góis, in charge of the investigation, told the local newspaper Diário de Notícias da Madeira.

The local police are not ruling out any leads, according to La Dépêche du Midi.
