“We thought about it,” the gendarmes of Blamont (Meurthe-et-Moselle) told Le Parisien - Today in France, when we asked them the question of whether there could be a link between the remains of a corpse found in a trunk in Gondrexange (Moselle), a few days before Christmas, and the disappearance of Guillaume Mongin, a 27-year-old young man suffering from schizophrenia who had not given any sign of life since the summer of 2022.
There are no more doubts to have, according to information revealed by Lorraine Actu and confirmed by the Metz public prosecutor's office.
Contacted, the latter confirms that Guillaume Mongin, who was reported missing after a walk in the forest in Val-et-Châtillon (Meurthe-et-Moselle) is indeed the corpse which had been found in a trunk at the home of a couple with children from Gondrexange ( Moselle).
“It was the DNA that spoke,” deputy public prosecutor Thomas Bernard told Le Parisien.
These are the results that came back recently which confirmed that it was indeed Guillaume Mongin, missing since August 28, 2022,” he said.
