Armed company robberies using gold seem to be a specialty in Franche-Comté.

In École-Valentin (Doubs), the Cheval Frères company was targeted twice this year, in less than four months.

From this Monday, March 25 and for three weeks, the Assize Court of Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle) will judge a commando of robbers, accused of armed robbery with hostage-taking or attempts, committed during the year 2019 in Burgundy-Franche-Comté.

On May 3, 2019, in the early morning, five gloved, hooded individuals armed with a pistol, a shotgun and a Kalashnikov-type assault rifle entered the premises of the goldsmith company “Losange”, located in Châtillon-le-Duc (Doubs).

The place is discreet.

Upon entry, nothing suggests that this company specializes in the manufacturing, machining or setting of jewelry for renowned jewelers.

The criminals, obviously well informed, took the six employees already present in the company hostage.
