At the Car & Classic auction, on www.carandclassic.it, until March 31st, one of the rare Lotus Omegas, it is the flagship that made headlines in the 90s, due to its performance, and which today she has a prominent place among the most sought-after Youngtimers.
Born from the collaboration with Lotus, this reinterpretation of the Opel sedan was built in just 950 examples and boasts supercar performance;
in fact it sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 5.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 282 km/h.
Numbers that between 1990 and 1994, the years in which it was built, allowed it to keep up with even renowned super sports cars.
Aggressive in its external shapes, due to a particularly muscular bodywork, in which the generous air intakes, the miniskirts and the large rear spoiler underlined an important potential, the Lotus Omega hides under its skin a more robust chassis than that of the car from which it derives, a more refined set-up, but above all, a 3.6-litre 6-cylinder 24-valve twin-cam engine with two Garrett T25 turbines equipped with chargecoolers, coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox, capable of delivering an impressive 377 HP.
