As reported by www.motorautority.com, with the last example built in a German plant, production of the Audi R8 has ceased.
Specifically, it is an R8 coupé V10 Performance with Vegas Yellow livery that will be exhibited at the brand's museum in Ingolstadt, Germany.
In reality, the mid-engined sports car with the four rings was supposed to stop being produced as early as 2023, but the quantity of orders received following the announcement led the brand to extend it until 2024.
At the moment, no announcement has been made. The arrival of a direct heir, but the German company's production conversion towards exclusively battery-powered cars from 2026 could lead, the conditional is a must, to a future electric supercar.
As long as Ingolstadt doesn't consider creating a new high-performance car with electrified mechanics derived from the heir to the Lamborghini Huracan, expected in the next few months, but we always remain in the field of hypotheses.
For now, it remains a historic commercial that started in 2007 with the coupé variant powered by the 4.2-liter V8 engine coupled to the 6-speed manual transmission which, over time, was joined and completely replaced, in the second generation, by the 5.2 V10.
Also offered in the roadster variant, and in more specialized versions, it had its swansong at the end of 2022, with the RWD GT.
