Excerpt from the music video for "Hurricane" by Aden Golan, Israel's song for Eurovision 2024/here 11
The order of the songs in the semi-finals of the Eurovision was announced tonight (Tuesday), and also determined the position of Aden Golan in the competition - 14 out of 16. Already in January, Israel was drawn to the second part of the second semi-final to be held on May 9 in Malmö, so we avoided a performance as the number 2 song, A location known to be cursed in the competition's long history.
In the first semi-final, the Israeli singer Tali Golargant will represent Luxembourg with the song "Fighter", which will be the last song that evening.
A total of 37 countries are participating in this year's Eurovision Song Contest.
Six of them - France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Great Britain and the host Sweden - automatically qualify for the final.
This year, for the first time, the representatives of these six countries will also appear during the semi-finals, and the countries will participate in the voting.
Israel will participate in the competition with the song "Hurricane", which was revealed on March 10 after a long saga, which included the disqualification of the original lyrics of the song, initially called "October Rain", on the grounds that they were supposedly "political".
The song was written by Avi Ohion, Keren Pels and Stav Begar.
After a long discussion with the European Broadcasting Union, the song was submitted with new lyrics and the same tune, and was approved by the Eurovision Supervisory Committee.
14 of 16. Golan/Reuven Castro
In order to qualify for the Eurovision final that will take place on May 11, Aden will have to capture the hearts of voters throughout Europe and the entire world, and finish among the top ten places in the semi-finals.
Like last year, this year too there is no professional judges voting in the semi-finals, but only public voting alongside the "rest of the world" voting, which is open to residents of countries that do not participate in the semi-finals, as well as for countries that do not participate in Eurovision at all and are not even in Europe.

Aden will also escape the terror of the pro-Palestinian demonstrators who are expected to flood the turquoise carpet events (like a red carpet, only with the sponsorship of Moroccan-Oil).
The opening event, which allows journalists and fans to interview the contestants, will be held on Sunday, May 5, and this year it will fall on the eve of Holocaust Day, so the Israeli delegation will be absent from it and save a considerable headache for the security guards.
