McLaren Group Limited has completed its capital reorganization with long-term strategic investor Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain, acquiring full ownership of the group's share capital following the conversion of all preferred shares in ordinary shares.
Having become one of the most successful names in motorsport over the last 60 years, thanks to participation in Formula 1, IndyCar, Formula E, Extreme E and eSports;
since 2011 McLaren has created the company's supercar division, McLaren Automotive, creating iconic and innovative models such as the Senna and the P1.
Paul Walsh, McLaren Group executive chairman, said: “We are delighted with Mumtalakat's continued commitment to McLaren through this agreement, which strengthens our ownership and governance structure. This will also allow us to focus on delivering our business plan to long-term, including investments in new products and technologies, continuing to explore potential technical partnerships with industry partners."
