Instead of the green light, a Mustang driver accelerated on the red light. A strange accident followed. But the red light violation wasn't his only offense.
There are sometimes drivers who make you wonder how they passed their driving test. In most cases, you can save yourself this aggression behind the wheel. But there are also cases where the question is entirely justified, as a Mustang driver in the Czech Republic has now proven.
Wait when green, race when red: Mustang interprets the rules in a strange way
The bright yellow Shelby GT500 stood out on March 24th in Hradec Kralove, a town near Prague, not only because of its paintwork, but also because of its rather idiosyncratic interpretation of traffic rules. The man seemed to have completely forgotten that you pass a traffic light when it's green and not when it's red.

In a video that the police shared on Facebook, you can see how all other road users obediently turn on the green light. However, the Ford Mustang remains standing. Only when the traffic light turns red does he accelerate to turn left. Even with a Green Arrow that wouldn't be allowed.
Renault can avoid a crash with Mustang – at least for now
And so it happens as it has to happen. A Renault Megane station wagon can just avoid the sports car and avoid an accident. The Mustang driver continues unimpressed and tries to turn left. However, this works rather poorly than well.
He veers off the wet road, hits a traffic sign and narrowly misses a pedestrian. But the drift continues. The bright yellow sports car misses another vehicle and then slides into the rear of the Renault that had previously escaped from it.

Mustang driver was driving drunk and without a license
In addition to the wet road, there were other factors that led to the accident. Before the trip, the man had “fortified himself with beer and a shot of rum,” as the police wrote on Facebook. But it was probably more, because it was above the legal limit. In addition, he didn't have a driver's license and the Mustang was just borrowed from a friend. Probably a gift for the driver's birthday.

An expensive pleasure and that is not only due to the high penalties in the Czech Republic. According to the police, the Renault driver suffered a few bruises and the damage amounted to around 50,000 crowns (around 1,900 euros), while the Ford suffered greater damage at 200,000 crowns (around 7,900 euros).
