While the bones of little Émile, who disappeared on July 8, have just been found near the hamlet of Haut-Vernet (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) where the child had disappeared near the family vacation home, 170 km away, further south, a wave of sadness settled over this Easter Sunday in the village of La Bouilladisse (Bouches-du-Rhône). This is where the child's parents and maternal grandparents live during the year.
“There is no relief, the sadness is infinite, we are all dejected,” declares José Morales, mayor of this town located around thirty minutes from Marseille.
“Do the best to support parents”
The chosen one's voice breaks with emotion. “It’s so difficult to describe what we feel… For the parents, it’s very complicated, we will do our best to support them,” he continues, struggling to hide his grief.
This Sunday afternoon, the municipal council will meet to organize something in memory of the two-year-old boy. “In these moments of pain, the solidarity of the community proves to be the most necessary,” he concludes, anxious to best support this family, deeply rooted in the Christian community of the village.
