Highlights: Cyberlounge+ project based on Tesla's Cybertruck. Based on the Kar-a-sutra concept created in 1972 by the famous architect Mario Bellini. The project is evidently very far from being considered concretely feasible. Would require Sae 5 level autonomous driving systems with sensors, LiDars and cameras. proportions, shapes and dimensions would not be compatible with the real circulation of these'mini-apartments' on wheels. The proposal is nevertheless interesting and makes us reflect - as happened in 1972 - on the theme of the New Domestic Landscape.

It is impossible to know whether in the mass of information acquired by artificial intelligence to produce the different declinations of the Cyberlounge+ project based on Tesla's Cybertruck there are also images and details of the Kar-a-sutra concept, that is, the incredible vehicle-lounge created in 1972 by the famous architect Mario Bellini in collaboration with the Italian furniture company Cassina, with Citroën and with Pirelli, considered by many to be the precursor of the Espace and other modern minivans.

What is certain is that 52 years ago - when the MoMa in New York launched an ideas competition entitled New Domestic Landscape - no one, from the managers of the famous Big Apple museum to the Milanese architect Bellini - had ever heard of self-driving vehicles and the opportunities that this technology would offer in revolutionizing the layout of vehicles for individual mobility. And this is confirmed by the fact that to create the working prototype of the Kar-a-sutra (a large glass minivan with interior furnishings made up of soft poufs to be arranged as desired) Bellini, Cassina and their collaborators chose the architecture, appropriately modified, of a Citroën SM which - it should be remembered - had a powerful Maserati engine and hydropneumatic suspensions which allowed the car to be raised and lowered.

At mobilitylabs.ai - which presented this futuristic and original project on social media - artificial intelligence took into consideration the architecture of Elon Musk's latest creation, the Cybertruck, which with its almost 6 meters in length represents an ideal base to hypothesize (and have AI design) possible declinations of lounges on wheels, which in some cases range to even embrace the concept of a moving studio apartment.

The Cyberlounge+ project is evidently very far from being considered concretely feasible, not only because it would require Sae 5 level autonomous driving systems with sensors, LiDars and cameras that do not appear at all in mobilitylabs.ai's proposals, but also because proportions, shapes and dimensions would not be compatible with the real circulation of these 'mini-apartments' on wheels.

The proposal is nevertheless interesting and makes us reflect - as happened in 1972 - on the theme of the New Domestic Landscape and on how now, with the complicity of electrification and connections, the line of demarcation between the vehicles on which we we move and the houses we live in.
