While the Vigipirate system has been raised to its maximum level, certain profiles are the subject of particular attention from the authorities. According to our information, a 27-year-old man on file S, of Russian nationality originally from Chechnya, was arrested in Seine-et-Marne following a chase with the police which began in Paris and was placed in police custody on April 1 for “refusal to comply”. When requested, the Paris public prosecutor's office had, at this stage, no information to communicate on this matter.

The facts begin at the Place de la Bastille. While running red lights, the man is spotted by a police officer who is driving in the area. Faced with the dangerous behavior of the driver of the Mercedes, the official tries to control him.

But the motorist responds with a smile and sets off again towards the east of the capital. He is then chased by other police vehicles. Arriving on the A4 motorway, however, the officials ended up losing track of the fugitive.

Already arrested with a knife near the Eiffel Tower

After checking the car registration in their files, they located the home of the owner – the suspect – in the Lagny-sur-Marne sector (Seine-et-Marne). And above all, they note that the young man is on S file. More worrying, he was arrested on March 18 at the Eiffel Tower with a knife on him. On this point, the Paris prosecutor's office only indicates that he was "the subject of a criminal order for removal on March 20, for carrying a category D weapon without legitimate reason."

After taking over from their Parisian counterparts, police officers from the Lagny-sur-Marne police station arrested him at his home. On site, during the search, officials found telephones and a pair of scissors in his car, within reach of the driver. The suspect also allegedly tried to flee when being taken into the police vehicle, making comments in reference to his S file.

Which did not prevent him from killing his former teacher Dominique Bernard the next day.
