Nicolas M., a former police officer in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis) was found guilty this Thursday, April 4, of manslaughter six years after the death of Alice Varetz, also a police officer in Saint-Denis. He was also found guilty of endangering the lives of others, and sentenced to four years in prison, three of which were suspended.
The one-year sentence can be served under an electronic bracelet at home. A sentencing judge will decide. “I advise you to respond to the summons, otherwise, at the slightest check, you will go to prison,” warns President Dominique Pittilloni.
