“We hoped to come out of here with the truth. Something to hold on to. We hoped that someone would take responsibility. We hoped but, in four days, none of that happened. It’s too easy to say that the main cause of our tragedy is a wave,” says Kathleen painfully, as the doors of the maritime court in Le Havre (Seine-Maritime) close this Friday.
With her loved ones, she has just experienced four days of infinite pain. Four days during which the court sought to establish the responsibility of the five defendants in the shipwreck which cost the lives of his two brothers, Steven and Jimmy, two sailors aged 19 and 26, and their boss, Quentin, 27 years old. . On January 14, 2021, all of them, with little experience, had sunk, trapped in the cabin of their trawler, while they were being towed by the SNSM lifeboat from Ouistreham (Calvados).
