Highlights: DS increases its electrified offer with the DS 3 and DS 4 HYBRID. New electrified options arrive from DS Automobiles for the DS 2 and DS 3. Customers have the opportunity to exploit the advantages of self-charging hybrid technology. On an urban journey of several kilometres, the HYBRIDs allow you to travel in electric mode for over 50% of the time, with a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 40%. To ensure the safety of pedestrians, they emit a slight acoustic signal when traveling at more than 30 km/h.

New electrified options arrive from DS Automobiles for the DS 3 and DS 4, specifically, thanks to the HYBRID variants, customers have the opportunity to exploit the advantages of self-charging hybrid technology.

In fact, battery management is totally automated, with charging taking place while driving without the need to connect to a power socket.

Dynamically, the cars in question start silently using only electric power, with the combustion engine coming into play when more power is required. On an urban journey of several kilometres, the HYBRID variants of DS 3 and DS 4 allow you to travel in electric mode for over 50% of the time, with a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 40%. Furthermore, to ensure the safety of pedestrians, they emit a slight acoustic signal when traveling at more than 30 km/h. In extra-urban driving, the new electric motor offers additional power during acceleration to improve performance while reducing consumption.

In a comparison with the DS 3 PureTech 130 with automatic transmission, in the combined WLTP homologation cycle, the HYBRD variant allows a gain of approximately 20% in terms of efficiency, i.e. 1.2 liters of fuel less to travel 100 kilometers, and a reduction of 27 grams per kilometer of CO2, with emissions equal to 112 grams per kilometer. On the DS 4, however, fuel savings can reach 16% in the combined WLTP homologation cycle, i.e. 1.1 liters of fuel less to travel 100 kilometers and a 15% reduction in CO2 emissions, up to a minimum of 116 grams per kilometre.

On a technical level, the HYBRID variants feature a petrol engine with 136 HP and 230 Nm of maximum torque, combined with a new six-speed dual clutch automatic transmission which integrates an electric motor with 28 HP and 55 Nm. The system uses of a 0.9 kWh NMC lithium-ion battery.

With the hybrid, performance also improves, and the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h for the DS 3, compared to the internal combustion model with the same engine, is 1.2 seconds shorter, standing at 8.4 seconds ; while on the DS 4 the time in the same acceleration goes to 10.4 seconds, still 1.2 seconds less than the similar car with only the thermal engine. Finally, with DS 4 HYBRID the offer starts from the new DS Automobiles range in 2024, consisting of two trim levels, PALLAS and ÉTOILE, each characterized by two different option packages, but with identical exteriors for both versions characterized by the DS WINGS and the pipes of glossy black exhaust, as well as special 19-inch wheels. As regards the price list, the DS 4 HYBRID PALLAS: starts from 37,000 euros, while the DS 4 HYBRID ÉTOILE from 41,800 euros.
