The style of the fabrics used by Porsche become an installation for the Milan Design Week. The Pepita motif, dating back to the 1960s and composed of small squares connected by diagonal stripes, was in fact the inspiration for the current fifth edition of 'The Art of Dreams' event. This international initiative promoted by Porsche encourages the creation of artistic installations focused on the theme of dreams.
The exhibition will take place as part of the Milan Design Week, from 16 to 21 April 2024, at Palazzo Clerici. "Through 'The Art of Dreams' - declared Ragnar Schulte, head of experiential marketing at Porsche - which represents the crown jewel of Porsche's cultural marketing, we wish to discover the extraordinary ambiguity and meaning of dreams today. In collaboration with Vitra, we are bringing design dreams to life. In fact, the iconic Pepita motif is much more than just a graphic pattern."
The centerpiece of the exhibition is the interactive sculpture 'Lines of Flight' created by the artist collective Numen/For Use. It is a gigantic light structure, composed of delicate cells and monochromatic networks, which invites the observer to enter and explore its suspended landscape.
"Our idea of a dream is that of a habitable utopia - explained the artists of Numen/For Use - and for us the dream is a process of self-discovery through which we confront the new and the unknown".
