A man was arrested and placed in police custody on Sunday after trying to enter, in possession of a weapon, a sports village located in the city center of Strasbourg, AFP learned this Monday from a source close to investigation.
“Out of treatment”
This 50-year-old man wanted to enter a playground set up by the French Handball Federation, located at Place Kléber, but when he presented his bag to a security agent, the latter noticed that he was in possession of a rifle and a silencer, according to the newspaper Les Dernieres Nouvelles d'Alsace.
The suspect would be “out of medication”, said the source close to the investigation, without further details at this stage. He was still in police custody this Monday morning, she said.
