“Around 3:00 p.m., Wednesday in Macouria, an individual born in 1997 was identified for having killed a lady and two children under ten years old with a knife,” Yves Le Clair, public prosecutor of Cayenne, told AFP. . “The identity of the two children has not yet been determined,” he added. According to information from Guyane La 1re, the two young victims were aged 6 and 10.
The Cayenne public prosecutor was unable to certify the relationship with the deceased woman, but he nevertheless indicated that “the alleged perpetrator knew the woman whose identity we have”.
The alleged perpetrator hospitalized
Released from prison last November after incarceration for acts of violence, the alleged perpetrator “himself alerted the gendarmes”, said the prosecution. Seriously injured “in circumstances which remain to be determined”, he was evacuated to Cayenne hospital in particular to undergo surgery.
According to Guyane La 1re, the authorities are looking for another person who is responsible for the injuries inflicted on the alleged perpetrator. An investigation into an assassination was opened and entrusted to the research section of the Kourou gendarmerie brigade.
