First of all, we have difficulty finding our words during conversations. Then we look for our house keys more and more often. Finally, we lose our sense of direction. Dementia robs us of our independence. How can we reduce risks?
Currently, more than 55 million people worldwide already suffer from dementia. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 60 to 70% of dementia cases are linked to Alzheimer's disease.
The first signs of dementia are:
· forgetting recent events;
· lose or misplace things;
· getting lost while walking or driving;
· be disoriented, even in familiar places;
· lose track of time;
· have difficulty solving problems or making decisions;
· have difficulty following conversations or finding words;
