The octogenarian couple, Alfred Helge Hansen and his wife Gaye Carole Hansen, were found dead Thursday morning in New Zealand. Their son, who went looking for them in the absence of news, discovered the bodies of his parents inanimate, family spokesperson and nephew of the couple Dean Burrell told the New Zealand Herald.
The two lifeless bodies were finally found Thursday morning on their property located in west Auckland (north), police announced in a press release, confirming that a ram was on the scene when they arrived. Police said another unidentified person was slightly injured by the ram.
“Sadly, they both lost their lives in a tragic accident. They are good people and they did not deserve this,” adds Dean Burrell.

“Once our teams arrived, they were also confronted with the ram which headed towards them,” said the same source. “After assessing the risks, the ram was shot” by a police officer. Autopsies on the victims will be conducted this Friday, police said.
A neighbor told the New Zealand newspaper “that you should never have” a ram, “never trust a hand-raised ram” she also commented. Five million people and more than 25 million sheep live in New Zealand.
