Thunderclap at the Cahors judicial court (Lot). Prosecutor Alexandre Rossi must be tried in June in Montauban for domestic violence, after a complaint from his wife, we learned on Saturday from a source close to the case.
Alexandre Rossi was taken into police custody at the beginning of the week in Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne), where the case was taken out of the scene, then placed under judicial supervision, according to the same source. He could not be in his department, since the law does not allow it.
He was heard by the gendarmes of the research brigade, then confronted by the complainant who filed a complaint several times in early April for psychological and physical violence suffered during arguments, reports France Bleu.
Ban on going to the complainant’s home
The Cahors prosecutor, in office since January 2022, has an obligation of care and a ban on going to the home of the complainant, with whom he is in the process of separating. Still according to France Bleu, he also filed a complaint against his wife for violence.
While Alexandre Rossi is still in office, the Ministry of Justice has indicated that, on the disciplinary level, “an analysis is underway and a decision will be taken quickly”. The Superior Council of the Magistracy was not contacted this afternoon. Contacted by franceinfo, the chancellery said it had initiated “urgently, a disciplinary analysis phase”.
Aged around forty and father of a family, Alexandre Rossi is the author of two books. His latest work, published last year, dealt with the functioning of justice and several themes, including domestic violence.
