The defense ministers of Egypt, Greece and Cyprus condemned the aggression launched by the Turkish regime on Syrian territory.

Egyptian Defense Minister Lt. Gen. Mohamed Zaki, his Greek counterparts Nikolaos Panayotopoulos and Cypriot Savas Angelides confirmed during their meeting in Athens that the Turkish aggression "has led to a new humanitarian crisis and another increase in migration flows," condemning the Turkish regime's attempt to undermine the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Syria.

The spokesman noted that the three ministers condemned the illegal Turkish exploration in the exclusive economic zone of Cyprus, calling for the immediate cessation of these illegal operations and respect for the sovereign rights of the Republic of Cyprus in its territorial waters in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter of the Law of the Sea, and condemned Turkish violations of Greek airspace and territorial waters.

The Ministers reaffirmed their common determination to achieve further cooperation in the defense and security fields in order to meet the challenges in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
