At least 16 prisoners were killed in a riot that broke out in a high security prison in Honduras on Sunday. The victims were taken hostage when they were arrested with guns and sharp objects, before being killed inside the prison in the city of El Porvenir. The violence occurs 48 hours after another massacre was reported in the prison of the city of Tela, where 18 inmates were shot dead and another 16 were injured.
