(CNN Spanish) - At least 16 prisoners were killed with firearms and sharps inside the maximum security prison in the municipality of El Porvenir, department of Francisco Morazán, the spokesman for the National Interinstitutional Force told CNN FUSINA, José Coello.

According to the military, in the incident, which occurred around five in the afternoon, local time, two inmates were also injured, who were taken to the Tegucigalpa School Hospital, where he receives medical assistance. According to the authorities of the hospital, their situation is delicate, but they are stable.
